This custom-built semi-waterfront home on Gabriola Island’s Berry Point Road was designed and built around its setting. Sited directly across from the ocean, the approx. 2,700 sq. ft. home was laid out to put the water and evening sunsets at the centre of daily life, with an open-concept kitchen, dining and living area anchoring the main level. We placed the primary suite, complete with walk-in closet and ensuite, on the main floor alongside a dedicated laundry and mudroom, keeping everyday living on one level, while the upper floor holds three additional bedrooms, a full bathroom and a flexible den for family and guests. Outdoor living was a priority from the start, and over 700 sq. ft. of covered porch and patio space was built to make the most of the West Coast climate year-round. Building on an island also meant planning for self-sufficiency, so the home was completed with a new septic system, a generator panel for backup power, and an attached garage wired for an EV charger, delivering a home ready for comfortable, independent island living.
